EMPLOYERS FINED BY COURT, IBy Teleirapb.—Pres» Auckland, July 17. Reserved judgment waa delivered by Mr. C. C. Kettle, S.M., to-day in a case in which the -Inspector of Awards proceeded against Winstone, Ltd., for breach of the Drivers' Award, Defendants had docked carters' wages to ttw extent of 7s. Id. each for alleged "slowing down." The magistrate held that tho clause in the award providing for tho docking of wages in the case of workers' default did not corer "slowing down" merely, but "complete absence from work. In any case, he held that the "slowing down" had not been proved, and gave judgment for the inspector, -with a nominal penalty against defendants of 10s., in respect of eaoh of the five men docked.
