In view of tho existence of smallpox in Sydney nnd of eases of suspected smallpox in the North Island of New Zealand, the Department of Public Health urges every person to take advantage of the protection afforded by vaccination. Vaccination is performed free of charge to tho public by tho Public Vaccinators, a list of whom, in the 'Wellington, Hawke's Bay, Nelson-Marlborough Health Districts is given below. Owing to an impression existing amongst some people that arm-to-arm vaccination is still practised, the Department assures the public that such is prohibited by law in this Dominion, and that only pure calf lymph is used. In tho City of Wellington Public Vaccinators will be in attendance at the Offices of the Hospital nnd Charitable Aid Board »in Marion Stroet between the hours of from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily until further notice.
