Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having offered a fairly good yarding of sheep and a small entry of cattle at their Grcytowr. sale on July 14.. Sheep sold readily, and a (food clearance was effected at highly satisfactory prices. Ijj cattle porno good choice pens of dairy heifers were offered, an-d good rates were realised. The following is a list of prices obtained:—Sheep: Woolly hoggets, to Us. 2d.; fat ewes, to 15s. 6d.; fat wethers, 19s. Brt. : extra, prime, to 265. ' Oattle: Fat heifers, £6 10s.; heifers in calf, £3 2s. 6d.; choice springing heifers, to £7 6s. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Jolinsonvillc pale yesterday as follows:—A good yarding of prime bullocks aurt a medium one of 6hcep mine forward, ond sold well at late rates. Fat cattle sold at tho previous week's rateu. Store tfheej) sold well, good linos and hoggets showing little improvement. Fat lambs were rather easier, and the fat dieep sale • opened at firm rates, but prices afterwards eased off considerably. Fat pigs showed no change. Store sheep: Ewes (local), two, four, six, and eight-tooth exceptionally good, £1 2s. to £1 6s. 6d.; six ana eight-tooth, 196. 9d.; mixed age#, 12s. sd. to 14s. 3d.; aged, ICs. 4d. to 13s. Bd.; oversea ewes, four-year-old, 15s. 6d. to 19s. Bd.; sound-mouth. ISg. 9d. to 16s. 3d.; two, four, and six-tooth, 18s. 2d.: hoggets (best), 14s. 9d. to lfe. Thero was a good demand for sows to pig, which realised to £4 12s. 6d., but the supply was small. BURNSIDE MARKET. Dunedln, July 16. At Burnside to-day 269 fat cattle were penned, tho quality* all through being fair. In spite of the large yarding, bidding was brisk, and prime cattle wero firm at late rates. ' Best bullocks, £11 10s. to £13; extra good, to £17; good? £9 15a. to £10 155.; light, £7 10s. to £9; best cows and heifers, £8 10s. to £10; extra-, to £11 7s. 6d.; good, £7 to £8 55.; light, £5 10s. to £6 10s. Fat sheep: 3226 penned. The quality all through was not nearly as good as it was last week. Prices were much on. a par with last week's rates, although ineliued to be erratic. Prime wethers, £1 ss. to £1 7s. 6d.; extra, to £1 10s. 3d.; medium to good, £1 3s. to £1 4s. 6d.; light, 19s. to £1 Is. 6d.; bost ewes, £1 Os. 6d. to £1 3a.; extra, to £1 9s. 3d.; medium to good, 17s. 6d. to 19s. 6(1.; light, 13s. 6d. to 15s. 6d. Fat lambs: Only 1400 peuned. There were very few prime lots on offer. Export buyers wero not keen, and prices ruled about tho Game as last week. Inferior lines were taken by graziers. Best, 16s. to 175.; extra, to 195.; medium to good, 14s. 6d. to 15s. 6d.; light and inferior, 12s. 6d, to 135.. 6d. Pips: About 100 penned. .Stores were hardly so high as at tho last sale, but porkers and baconers were firm.
