By tireless the Unftn Company's Tahiti advised that she w<u? expected to arrive at Wellington from Sydney at 6 a.m. to-day. Tiiie vesael will lay at anchor in the stream to undergo medical inspection, and will ! subsequently berth at the Glasgow Wharf. MOANA ARRIVES AT 9 A.M. According to the latest wireless message received from the Union Company's Moana, the vessel cxpcctcd to arrive at Wellington from San. Francisco, via way ports, at 9 a.m. to-day. The Moana will berth at Jervois Quay No. 16, and is scheduled to continue her journey to Sydney to-morrow. ItUAHINE DUE MONDAY. ' The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised that the Ruahine arrived at Hobart from London at 8 a.m. yesterday. She was expected to continue her journey to Wellington this afternoon, and as due in port on Monday afternoon next. WEEK'S SYDNEY BOAT. This week's direct boat from Sydney t-o Wellington—the Ulimaroa—arrived in tlio stream at Wellington shortly after 6 a.m. yesterday. After having been granted pratique the vessel berthed nl the Queen's Wharf No. 1 north about 8.30 a.m. The Ulimaroa left Sydney at 12.30 p.m. on Saturday last, and was favoured witli-ijpood weather on- the run across the Tasman Sea. Included in the stoamer's cargo was a large shipment of about 1000 cases of fruit, which consisted mainly of oranges and mandarines. The Ulimaroa leaves Wellington for Melbourne, via south and Hobart, at 5 p.m. to-day. NIAGARA IN DOCK. But for the fact of it being a week day there is no doubt a far greater number of persons would havo seized tho opportunity to view the Uniion S.S. Company's steamer Niagara in Woolwich Dock at Sydney 'recently. She was taken in for cleaning and painting during the morn* ing, and the whole operation of getting the huge vessel—she is the largest merchant vessel ever docked at Sydney—'was ! viewed with, interest by those fortunate j enough to bo present; The Niagara'will' i commence her second voyage to Vancouver |on July 28. TYiSER LINE MOVEMENTS. The Tyser liner Indralema left London for Wellington, via usual way porta, on June 22. She is due hero on August 31. The Indralema was followed by the Hawkee Bay, which cleared the Home port for Wellington on July 1. Wellington ; should be reached about September 3. The next Tyser steamer to leave Londou for New Zealand is the Wfoakorua. "• She lias been fixed to sail on July 23, aud is duo at Wellington about September 28. HARDWOOD FROM BUNBURY. The steamer Hercules is reported to havo left Bunbury (W.A.)-on July 2 for .Welling--ton and other southern ports, with a cargo of hardwood. After discharge, the Hercules returns to Bunbury to load a similar cargo for Auckland. Sho is expected to arrive there early in October. The eteamer Clan Machines is at present loading a. cargo of hardwood at' Bunbury for Auckland and other New Zealand ports. She is expected at Auckland about the end of the present month. The Union Company' 6 new steamer Kamo, which is en route from the Clyde to New Zealand, will make a call at Bunbury to load for Auckland and southern ports. ' ' MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. H. Johnstone, late wireless operator on the Maunganui, has joined t-hei Ulimaroa in a similar capacity. Mr. Hayman, late of the .'Ulimaroa, is now stationed at Melbourne. Mr. Geo. Dolling, eecond engineer of the Pateena, signed off that vessel at Wellington yesterday. Mr. Dawe, purser of the Ulimaroa, is at present on holiday leave, and rejoins his vessel at Melbourne. Mr. E. Neale, late of the Wimmera, who has been relieving purser oil the Ulimaroa, goes asfoorc for ordens at Melbourne this trip. The coastal steamer Aorere was placed on -the Wellington Patent Slip yesterday, when it was found that the only damago which she had sustained was that which has already been, reported, namely, the loss of her pTopeller and tail-end shaft. It is expected she will be ready to resume running to Patea on Saturday. Dredge 222, Dunodiu, will be laid up this week for overhaul and alterations to her bucket ladder, etc. Hor dredging well will be cut right through her bows, and 19ft. will be added lo her present ladder, so that when completed she will bo able to cut her way ahead and dredgo to a depth of aibout 32ft. The New Zealand Shipping Company's Hurunui is expected to get away for Port Chalmers from Wellington to-day. She loads in New Zealand on behalf of the F. and S. Line, and her subsequent movements are as follow:—Bluff, July 21; Timaru, July 25; Lyttolton, July 28; and Wellington, July 31. The Hurunui leaves here finally for Avonmoutli on August 4. A cablegram has been received etating that the F. and S. liner Norfolk, en route to London* Liverpool, and Avonnuouth from New Zealand port 3, left St. Vincent on July 7. An expected arrival in port from Lyttelton on Sunday is the New Zealand Shipping Company's Remuera. Departure will be taken for London on Thursday, July 24. The steamer Kent loaves Wellington for Lyttelton, Dunedin, and the Bluff to-day. The vessel has 2500 tons of Liverpool cargo to put out at the last-mentioned poTt. The Union Company' 6 Novua leaves Auckland for Tahiti on July 30, instead of the Talunc. The latter vessel replaces the Navua in the Auckland-Fiji trade.
