GENERAL COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the • General Committee of tho Masterton A. and P. Association was held in the association's rooms on Saturday last, there being present: Messrs. H. Morrison (president), H; Dagg, It. D. Daggi B. Rayner, J. T. Dagg, R. liray, J. E. I'erry, H. Jivaus, J. Strang. D. Foreman, W. Cooper, C. P. Vallance, 0. C. Cooper, D. Caseiberg, W. J. Welch, ■J. C. M'lullop, J. H. James, D. M'Gregor, and E. Harper. A letter.ivas read from tho secretary of the Hereford Breeders' Association, stating that it had been decided to m'ako donations of .£2 10s. each as prizes for 2J-year and 3 J-year Hereford bullocks at the next show.—lt was decided to accept the donation, and thank the association. Tho Now Zealand Sheep Breeders' Association offered gold medals for champion Lincoln ram i*nd ewe at the next show.— The offer was received with thanks. Mr.. James Stuckey wrote to represent tho association .at the annual meeting of the National Sheep Breeders' Association, together with Mr. W. Perry. Tho Secretary of tho Agricultural Department wisite expressing regret that Masterton could riot bo included *in tho list of shows at which tho Agricultural Department's general exhibit could bo made. It was stated, however, that a small exhibit would bo made at tlio show.—lt. was decided to refer the matter to the Agricultural Committee, with a view to furiher representations being made, i Ground Committee. ' The report of tho meeting of tho Ground Committee,' at which Mr. R. Gray presided, was read. The caretaker reported having put in seven small plantations since his last report. Ho had also trimmed trees and finished tho repairing of sheep yards. Messrs. Robinson and Son had sent two hundred cabin go trees as a donation, and most of these had been planted. Tho caretaker made several suggestions for improvement. It was'decided that Messrs. R, Gray and W. H. Buick inspect tho proposed work; It was decided that Messrs. M'Gregor and C. E. Daniell be asked to furnish an estimate,of the cost of a pumping scheme from the spring to the grandstand. Finance Committee. • The Finance Committee's report was read, Mr. D. Caseiberg having occupied tho chair. Tho treasurer reported expenditure for tho month amounting to .670 13a. 5d., and receipts X7O 12s. (id. The debit balance at date was reported to be .£145 10s. 2d. Accounts amounting to .£57 lis. lOd. 'were passed for payment. It wns decided to recommend that the request of the local Amateur Theatrical Society for tho use of the committee-room on Tuesdays and Fridays until the middle of September next bo granted, free of rent, the society to defray the cost of lighting and cleaning. The secretary submitted a bal-ance-sheet to June 30, which showed receipts £21051 10s. 5d., and expenditure J54163 ss. Bd. The statement showed a balance of £8037 16s. sd. assets over liabilities, as compared with .£7116 os. 9d. at June 30, 1913. Change is the ordor of tho day! Therefore we change an old adage.
