RIFLE SHOOTING.
BISLEY EMPIKE CUP. By Telesraph—Pices Association—Copyright London, July 11. The contest for the Empire Cup is now being fired at the Bisley rifle meeting. The Shooting opened in fine little dull and cloudy. Burr, A. G. Fulton, Gray, Halls, Ommundsen, H. Mann, Wergan, and Martin represented Britain. Fulton and Gray, for Britain, scored 49 each; Ommundsen, . Halls, Bullock (a Canadian), and Grant (Australian) each made the possible. At the second range the wind freshened, and was variable, and at the third range the conditions were rather trying. _ Mann and Pulton dropped only three points at the three ranges. The scores were as follow:— First range—Britain, 377; Australia, 361; Canada,' 363; and India, 334. Second .range. —Britain, 386; Australia, 385; Canada, 379; India, 352. Third range—Britain, 373; Australia, 361; Canada, 343; India, 328. (Bee. July 13, 5.5 p.m.) London, July 12. The Shooting for the Empire Cup wpa continued to-day, the weather being, oni : the whole, easy. The scores were as follow:— 800 yds. Tange.—Britain, 376; Australia, 362; Canada, 346; India, 349. -"900 yds- range.—Britain,' 360; Australia, 355; Canada, 332; India, 295. 1000 yds. range.—Britain, 338; Canada, 310; India, 295;' Australia, 295. • The Canadians are using the Boss rifle. (Eec. July 13, 0.30 a.m.) ~ London, July 13. During the shooting for the Empire Cup at Bisley the wind was fluky at the long range, and a burst of garish sunlight caused a mirage. The Canadians' comparative failure came as a surprise, and is partly attributed to the fact.that they had only three days' practice." ' The Australian team held its own well on the whole. London, July 13. liutlie Shooting for 'Cheylesmore's Cup, open to members of the Empire teams, Blacklow (New South Wales) and Pulton (England) tied, with a score of 49. Fulton won .after an exciting slioot-off, each scoring three bulls, then an' inner, and two bulls apiece. Blacklow followed with an inner, and I'nlton got a bull'seye. "
