Tlio Hon. W. r. Masscy (Prime Minister) has almost recovered from the injury to lias aukle, which ho sustained last week, though he is not yet nblo to get about with perfect freedom. Tho Hon. 11. 11. Rhodes loft for Christchurch on. Saturday evening, and is expected to return to Wellington on Tuesday. The Hon. W. Fraser returned from Huntly on Saturday afternoon. Mr. Rhodes is the only Cabinet Minister absent from Wellington. Mr. W. A. Lyon, of Wootlville, was admitted as a solicitor of tlio _ Supromo Court oir Saturday by Mr. Justice Chapman. Mr. W. J. Sim appeared as wransel. Mr. Wm, Watson, one of the directors of the Bank of New Zealand, ia at present ILI in a private hospital. An InveroargMl telegram states thalt tho death occurred on Saturday of John Robert Mill, a well-known business man at ltivcrton, and a very old resident of Southland. Dr. R. 11. Mokgill, formerly of Wellington, and now District Health Oflicer for tlio Auckland district, left for Sydney by tlio Moeraki on Friday, on route to Canada and England. Ho has been given six months' leavo of absence.
