TECHNICAL STUDENTS' ESSAYS. During tliQ visit of the warship New Zealand to Wellington, the mechanical instructors at the Technical School took the students of l-li-eir classes 011 board specially to get information about 111achineiv and boilers. They were afterwards "given a paper, to write on "What Appealed to Them as Engineers." Three prizes were allotted to eacli class (senior and junior), and Mr. Robertson was asked by tho director to make the presentation. As a • whole tho' papers were excellent, and it was difficult to.chooso the best. The decision for tile seniors was as follows-.—First. W. Terry; second. L. Orr; third. J. Bollons. Juniors: First W. Butcher.; second, L. Hall; third, T! Bollons.
