MAWSON RELIEF FUND.
SYMPATHETIC RESPONSE, By Telegraph—Press London, July 9. The Royal Geographical Society has granted the Mawson Expedition an additional <£100 in token of sympathy with tho present work of tho expedition, Tho Iloyal Society has donated JSO. Commander Evans, of tho Scott expedi-. tion, in> a sympathetic letter sent to Captain Davis, has enclosed the following contributions for the Mawson relief fund: —Lady Scott, ,£100; Commander Evans, .£100; Lieutenant Pennell and Messrs Cherry and Garrad, JC2S each; Mr. Grif-fifth-Taylor, .£2O; Messrs. Priestly, Gran, Ponting, Wright, and Commander Campbell, .£lO each; and Mr, Prank Debenham, <£3.
Captain Davis, of the Aurora, recently appealed to the British publio for funds to enable him to refit his ship and sail to tho Tclief of Dr. Mawson and his party as soon as possible. • The vessel sails for Australia on July 18.
