Galbraith presided, and there were also present: Messrs. E. Wylie, 11. M. Isaacs, J. Laughton, F. G. AValburton, C. J. Wilson, G. Dixon, A. Laurenson, and J. D. Avery (secretary). Mr. L. Sievers, secretary of tho New Zealand liugby Referees' Association, forwarded a list of members of affiliated associations, who were, eligible and available for inter-Union fixtures.—The list ,was noted and placed 011 record. An application was"received from the New South Wales Rugby Union, in connection • with tho Australians' match against the Maoris. The letter asked that the New Zealand Union should,; if possible, arrange that the ninth match of the Australian team's tour should bo played in the North Island, instead of at Bleriheim, so as to facilitate the travelling for the extra game against tho Maoris, and also to allow of a few days being spent by the team at Rotorua. it was decided to reply that it was now too late to make tho suggested alteration in the fixtures. A letter from tho Southland Rugby Union asked if permission would bo granted i'or the Southland body to stato a caso for the English Union in regard to expelled players. Tho secretary was directed to inform tho Southland Union that tho rules did not permit of further appeal. Mr. Chas. F. Cameron wrote from San .Francises confirming arrangements made ro the American tour, and offering his services for any futuro occasion on which ho might be of use.—lt was resolved to thank Mr. Cameron for his services. South Canterbury Union agreed to alterations in the Australian team's fixtures, but tho Southland Union objected, and it was resolved to adhere to tho original programme. A great many applications for reinstatement were received from players who had been expelled for taking part in the League game. None of tho applications was granted. WELLINGTON UNION. 1. A meeting of tho Management Committee of tho Wellington Rugby Union was held last evening, Mr. E. 0. Ilalcs presiding. It was decided to send seventeen men on the northern tour, and tho team will leave on Wednesday next for Auckland. Mr. D. 'Weir will accompany it' as manager. Some discussion took place re arranging a match for Wellington with tho NewZealand team prior to its departure for Vancouver. The matter was left in the hands of the chairman to confer with tho New Zealand Union. Regarding tho tour to Vancouver, tho Otago Union wrote_ suggesting that tho unions should combine and provide somo "pocket money" for members of tho team. After some discussion tho local union decided that 3s. a man per day should lie tho maximum grant, and they would be riuite prepared to _ help financially provided that the New Zealand Union gave them power to do so. ' WEDNESDAY MATCH. At tho Athletic Park yesterday afternoon, tho AVednesday competition 'was continued, when Tramways met and defeated I'etone by 5 goals to 3. The Maori representative team defeated the Horowhenua representatives at Levin to-day, by 7 points to G, after an interesting game. Drizzling rain fell from start to finish, but, nevertheless, tho visitors showed fine passing capacity, and excellent: judgment in line-kicks. Horowhenua played well, and almost won the game, but, five minutes from "no side," Rukiugi potted a splendid goal for tho Maoris, and placed them one point ahead. Horowhenua scored twico in "the first spell, and tho visitors twico in tho second. CORINTHIANS NOT 'SATISFIED. Mr. J. ■B. Paton presided over 'tho weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Football Association last evening. It was decided that the Sixth Division trial match be played on Kilbirnio Reserve, and not at the Basin Reserve. T'he match will commcnce at 1.30 p.lll. 011 Saturday. It was announced that tho school fixtures drawn for last Saturday will stand for Saturday, July 12, with the exception *that Tliovndon B play Kilbirnio, at Kilbirnie, at 10 a.m., and Clyde Quay play Roscneat'h, at Kilbirnie, at 11 a.m. The Taranaki representatives, who are ■challenging for the Brown Shield, will arrive here by the New Plymouth express this evening. It was decided to entertain both teams at the Theatre Royal to-morrow evening. The matter of entertaining the teams on Saturday, evening was loft in the hands of Messrs. Duncan and Auld. On account of E. Cross being unable to play, Favcll (St. John's) has been chosen to play rightback for Wellington. A letter was received from the.secrciarv of the' Corinthian Club asking that their case bo reconsidered, and, failing I hat, that an appeal board be set up to rehear the whole matter. Letters of protest (against the sentences recently imposed) by A. Webster, H. Robert', and T. Crouch were read. Mr. Walls, who was absent, nt tho previous meeting, staled that ho was perfectly satisfied with the action of the committeo regarding tho suspensions passed 011 members of the Corinthian team; with the exception of Webster. Mr. Walls moved:—"That tho committee cannot reopen the case with the exception of that part of it relating to Webster, and that his caso he reopened." Mr. Wells seconded the motion, but subsequently stated that he had been under the. impression that he was merely seconding the latter part (regarding Webster). He that the two parts of the motion be taken separately. Tho chairman stated that ho could not accept Mr. Wnlls's motion, and gave reasons. Mr. Thompson then moved:—"That i replv be sent to the Corinthian Club stating that the committee cannot re- | open the case, but asrec to the propci! 1 (according to Rule 10) to appoint an an- ! neal beard, and that, each apnellant shall | forward an appeal fee of 55." 1 This was seconded by Mr. M'JCeowcn, and carried.
