IRISH HOME RULE.
SEDITIOUS LEAFLETS.

Speaking in the House of Commons, tho Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Bonar Law, 6aid ho thought interest in Home Rulo in tho House of Commons was dead, owing to the Parliament Act. But the question was alive in tho country, where forces were gathering to destroy tho machinery which the Government had so carefully constructed. Ho invited the Government to consider tho attitude of northeast Ulster, and urged it to consider the calamitous course it was pursuing.
Mr. Asquith, tho Primo Minister, said if tho Opposition could demonstrate any real danger of persecution of Ulster it would command the Government's sympathy and support, but he did not believe there was any such danger. Neither did ho believo it would be necessary to apply coercion to Ulster.
Mr. J. Campbell (Unionist M.P. for Dublin University) emphasised Ulster's determination to fesist Homo Rule. Ho recalled Mr. Birrell's speech at Bristol, in which tho Chief Secretary for Ireland had said the King's soldiers would not be employed to mow down people in peaceful Protestant Belfast. Mr. Campbell asked. whether Mr. Asquith assented to that statement. The Premier nodded assent. Sir Rufus Isaacs, Attorney-General, said the Government was pledged to carry Home Rule, and would never retrace its steps whatever tho result. BILL IN THE HOUSE OP LORDS.' London, July 8. The Home Rule Bill was read a first time in the House of Lords. "FLAGRANT DISLOYALTY.". (Sydney "Sun" Special.) London, July 8. Residents of Dublin have received a leaflet warning Irishmen, in terms of the most flagrant disloyalty, to have nothing to do with tlie English Navy and Anny. It says: "England's population is cowardly and degenerate, and war between England and Germany is inevitable."
