VIOLIN RECITAL.

Miss Marie Motto announces a violin recital in Masterton on July 17, assisted by Miss Phyllis. Fell, of Nelson. Miss Motto, a leading London musician, is on a holiday visit to the Dominion. She is a distinguished pupil of Sainton Arbos, and Joachim, and the leader of the Motto Quartet, one of tho several fine string quartets of London. Frequenters of con-, certs in the Old Country will readily associate Miss Motto's name with those of Leonard Borwick, Fanny Davies, and Henschel. She is the possessor of a fine ' "Strad," bearing - the date 1737. For richness and subtlety of tone, of course, the Stradivarius fiddles. can never be equalled, and Miss Motto is described as an artist who gives her audience everything that a wide musical experience, combined with a warm "Southern" temperament, can produce from sueh a magnificent inJtrument.
