HOCKEY.

WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the executive of tho Wellington Hockey Association was held last evening. Mr. C. S. Cathie presided. Tho K.Y.M.I. Club wroto protesting against a decision of the referee (Mr. dendall) in the match against Victoria College junior A team on Saturday, Juno 21. K.Y.M.I. alleged that tho whistle was blown for "sticks" and that the goal immediately following should, not havo been given. Mr. Gendall admitted that only one whistle was blown and that, when he blew, he had in his mind a penalty, but, as tho goal was simultaneous, he at once changed his mind and gave it a goal. It was pointed out that ns soon as the whistle is blown tho ball is "dead." The protest was upheld and the game was ordered to be replayed and the protest fee of 10s. was returned. It was decided that the match against Hflwke's Bay bo played at Karori en July 26. , It was also decided to play a match against the Wednesday Association representatives on Arbor Day and that tho selectors bo notified to arrange tho team.
