BALLOON ELIMINATION TEST. By Tclerraph.—Prei'a Association—OoDjriffht San Francisco, July 6. A Goodyear balloon iron the elimination test in tho Gordon Bennett International Competition. It landed at Miohigan, 652 miles distant from the starting place at Kansas City. While crossing Lake Michigan one of the competing-balloons was partly Tipped and narrowly escaped descending into the water. It finally landed in Canada, a distance of 630 miles, winning second place.
FATAL AERO COLLISION. Berlin, July 6. Herr Hoolscher, an airman, was killed, and Captain Fricdel injured, in a collision between biplanes at a height of sixty feot at Johannisthal. BOMB-DROPPING EXPERIMENTS. (Sydney "Sun"—Special.) (Reo. July 7, G p.m.) Venice, July 7. Experiments have been made with a Guidous type of hydroplane to demonstrate that bombs weighing 200 pounds could be thrown out without affecting tho equilibrium of the machine.
