A Press Association message from Palmerston 6tates:—Mr. Veale. of Trethella farm, held a very successful pedigree and high-grade Jersey sale to-day. There was a large attendance, buyers attending from all districts around, and good prices wero obtained for the animals submitted. One cow, Dusky Girl, fetched 99 guineas, and was bought by Mr. S. R. Lancaster, of Palmerston. A two-year-old daughter of Dusky Girl brought 65 guineas, and was bought by Mr. Brown, of Levin. Sevontvfour .cows, heifers, and calves sold at an average of over £26. Messrs.. Datgety land 00. rcport:-We held a snocial sale of dairy heifers on account of various clients at Waverley. on July 1, when a yarding of 160 head was submitted. Included in the yarding were very choice lots,' and bu.vers were nrcsent from Taranaki. Pahiatua. Wanganui. and the Waverley district. Bidding wu« very brisk for all classes showing close up to profit, and a satisfactory pale resulted. A choice line of 3-.vear heifers, oil account of Messrs. Symes Bros., made frd'm £7 2s. to £12. Store sheep, except lambs, were rather easier. I'at lambs, except prime sorts, were easier, and fat 6heep opened firmly. . I'at cattle showed some improvement, and fat nigs sold well. Store sheep: Forward lambs, 14s. to 14s. 9d.; medium, 12s. 3d. .to 135.; extra, to 155.; inferior, 10s. 6d.; half bred ewe lambs. 15s. 7d.; ewes (specially good two-tooths), up to 245. lid.; 4 and 6-tooth of similar class, to. 2<s.; 4, 6. and 8-tooth, 14s. to 165.; aged owoa, lis. to 125.; 2-tooth medium. 16s. 6d.; 2, 4, and 6-tooth (good),- lbs. to 17a. 9d.: - extra good, to 215.: full-mouthed. 14s. to 155.; 4 and 5-year-old ewes, 12s. 5d.: merino ewes, 12®. 3d.
