Frederick Ilobbs, a married man, aged 45. a boilermaker at the railway /workshops, who was admitted to the hospital oil June 19, suffering from a 1 crushed foot, died there as the result of thß accident. A CHILD SUFFOCATED. Dunodin, July 1. Evidence at the inquest on Eric Walker, aged 2$ years, who died at St. Kilda on Sunday, showed that the laiynx was practically- blocked by swelling, in which haemorrhage had taken plara. A verdict was returned that death was duo to suffocation caused by a. growth in the larynx. A PECULIAR CASE. Gisborne, July 1. "Samuel D.oleman, Gisborne, drowned. God bless all my children. Good-bye," A boy found the above message written in a legible hand on a note attached to a hat and coat lying in the Botanical Gardens, near the Taraheru Rivor, when going to school to-day. Ho informed the police, who examined and -were proceeding to drag Hie river, when word came to hand t.hat Doleraan, a well-known character in these parts, was safe. A man passing over the footbridge at 6 a.m. heard a splash, and, obtaining assistance, found Doleraan struggling ashore. He was taken to tho hospital. DEATH FROM HEART FAILURE. Dunedin, July 1. At ithe inquest on tho body of Ida Catherine Becker, agsd 20 years, .who died at the Upper Junction, on Sunday,' tho evidence showed that death was due to heart failure, following on an attack of influenza. FARMER FOUND DEAD. ; Auckland, Jubr 1. Word has been received by tho Superintendent of Police that this morning a farmer named Albert Frost had been found doad at Pukekawa in the Mercer district, under circumstances that suggested that lie had been accidentally shot. Frost was 33 years of ago and married. LEAGUE FOOTBALLER'S DEATH. Christchurch, July 1. D. A. Inkson, who • accompanied tho New Zealand League football team to Australia, making the tour really for health purposes, died at Toowoomba on June 20. The deceased was for many years with tho firm of A. J. White, mid retired only twelve months ago. Ho was an enthusiastic bowler and was secretary of the Christchurch Bowling Club.
