MEAT. AND MILK RISING. . Although nothing definite lias as ret bMn announced, there is likelihood of the price of meat being increased in tko ne.ir future. It is understood that tha [Master -v Butchers' Association are considering the questio.l of raising the retail price, owing w tho increased price and scarcity of fat stock. According to _ sonio local butchers seen yesterday, the incre&so will not bo "anything extraordinary." ; • At the commencement of last month, several of tlio milk vendors in the city increased prices to sd. per quart. Some of those vendors who "stood down at that time have now deemed it necessary to raise their prico to sd. per quart also* This is. said to bo owing to the farmers increasing tho wholesale price.
