Several trucks were smashed, and tho engine of tho express was disabled. Tho driver of tho express realising in time that something was wrong, jammed the brakes and saved the situation. No ono was injured. Tho driver stales that tho signals were that tho main line was clear. The oflv cials are mystified as to how tho expi'e.v was deflected on to tho loop.
