Three thousand colonial visitors accepted tho invitations for Captain and Mrs. Bodj ed-Carpeiitor's reception to the High Commissioners and Agents-General. Mr. Mackenzie, High Commissioner for New Zealand, in replying to the toast "The Dominions," said the overseas Empire aspired to sharo tho Imperial responsibility, and hoped to see the day when all the units would have a voico in the Empire's management. Sir George Reid, High Commissioner for Australia, proposed "Tho Mother Country," and tho Duke of Argyle, in replying, referred to the valuable lessons taught by the daughters overseas. If Britain had such admirable systems' of government as the colonies possessed, she might find a way out of some of her present difficulties, and a lrtiy which would entirely satisfy Ireland.
