Sir George Reid, High Commissioner for Australia, proposed "Tho Mother Country," and tho Duke of Argyle, in replying, referred to the valuable lessons taught by the daughters overseas. If Britain had such admirable systems' of government as the colonies possessed, she might find a way out of some of her present difficulties, and a lrtiy which would entirely satisfy Ireland.
