Speakers at a meeting of the Coal and shipping interests at the Northern port were loud ,in their complaints regardinE the chaotic state of the coal trade, and the damage and loss resulting from want of proper loading and other facilities. The meeting demanded that the Goternment take immediate steps to relieve the situation. FARRIERS ON STRIKE. MACHINE-MADE HORSE-SHOES. . Sydney, June 27. Farriers in many of the smaller shops in the city and suburbs havq struck against the use of machine-made horse-shoes. A recent award increased wages by 12J per cent. The men olaim that the masters immediately / introduced machine-made shoes,! and rfdiied the prices by 40 per cent;. IMPENDING STRIKE IN AMERICA. GOVERNMENT INTERVENING. The United States Senato has adopted an amendment to,,the,-Industrial Disputes and Arbitration Law, with a view to preventing the impending strike of ninety thousand railway, employees east of Chicago.'
