Arriving in tlio stream at Wellington from London last evening the New Zealand Shipping Company's Hemuera berthed at the Quern's Wharf No. 1 south yesterday morning.

Aftor unloading at Auckland, the Union Company's chartered steamer Canada Capo returns to Newcastle. Another cargo for Auckland will be lifted there. The Union Company's big cargo-carrier Waitemata lias been engaged to takcßheep from southern porta for the Sydney sales. The steamer calls at Wellington on Saturday to take on board a further consignment of sheep. The Haupiri sails from Wellington for Picton to-day to load chaff for Onehunga. On her return here she will be laid up for a week for overhaul and survey. The collier Koonya loaves Wellington today to load at Wcetport for Wellington and Napier. Tho Marine Department havo been advised that during temporary dredging operations at tho Bluff, a grey cask buoy has been placed to carry the dredge moorings. with No. 1 beacon, bearing N. 50dcg. E„ distant 190 yards. The Uinemoa, was unable to work East Oapc Inland lighthouse yesterday, nnd was compelled to sholted from the weather at To Araroa. She will make another attempt to land stores to-day. The Union Company's Arahnra will occupy the Wellington Patent Slip from this morning to Friday afternoon, and will bo followed by the Awohou. The Mapourika will be the next steamer to occupy the I cradle after the Awaliou.
