HARBOUR BOARD.
• MONTHLY MEETING, Messrs. R. Fletcher (chairman), H. L. Natban, D. Kennedy, A. M'Farlane, J. G. Cobbe, C. E. Daniell, ; M. Cohen, R. A. Wright, C. W. Jones, James Trevor, and Captain Watson were present at the monthly meeting of the Harbour Board held last evening. The current account showed a credit balance of .£43,824 "18s. 6d., and the imprest account a credit of '<£IO7G 7s. Bd. The amount on fixed deposit was shown tit ,£BO,OOO. Payments for, thd month were: Accounts and wages, ,£13,820 -is. 9d.; for ■progress payments on contracts, X 2277 13s. Sd.; for salaries, »SB'U Us.; total, .£16,945 12s. 2d. ' • ■ • The chairman reported that, as provided by agreement of September 21, 1908, between tha board'and the Miramar Council, the council has paid the third of fivo annual payment? of ,£IOOO as subsidy in connection with the board's works at Miraraar. Re dues on ■ Government cargo and vessels, this consisted of a letter, from the Minister for Marine stating that ho did not see his way clear to abolish the exemption (as far as dues on Goveriijnent ships and cargo wSre concerned)! ; The report was adopted. On the recommendation of the Wharyes. pnd Accounts Committee, it was decided' •'to issue a foreshoi'e license under seal to Mr. C. J. Clark, subject to approval of plans by the Marine Department, for a pipe between high and low water mark at Lyall Bay, for conveying seawater to proposed hot water baths." ■■
