BOXER ON THE HUSTINGS.
» CANDIDATE WHO ENJOYED. A SPAR. At tho recent Federal election, the Hon. Andrew Fisher, Prime Minister of Australia, was opposed by Mr. Wicnliolt, a boxer. The latter travelled about the constituency of Wide Bay (Queensland) not, as he frankly announced, to mako speeches, but to "take on" anybody who would face liim with tho gloves'. The Bundaberg "Daily News" stated tlut ke had "a very large meotWof faTmsrsand others at a placo called Oi* Gin. Tho report proceeds:— "Mr. 11. 11. Mullett asked if there was iinvono in the hall who would liko to try a boxing bout with Mr. Wienliolt, as if there were the latter would be pleased to accommodate them at ft friendly spar. Tho Gin Gin champion, S. Blair, then accepted the proffered glove, and put up a very creditable performance over four rounds with Air. Wienliolt. The latter apparently still had a considerable amount of 'go' in him, because lie asked if there was anyone else. Mr. Crozier, jun., then donned* the mittens, and a further interesting two rounds were boxed.
