SOCIAL AND PERSONAL.

Petone Wedding, The Petone correspondent of The Dominion writes that the marriage took place on Monday in St. Augustine's Church of Miss Gertrude Heginbotham, second daughter of the late Mr. William Heginbotham, and Mr. Albert Baumgren, of Petone. The Rev. Mr. Stephenson performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Harry Heginbotham, wove a gown of cream silk voile, and carried a bouquet of white flowers and violets. The bridesmaids were Miss Ida Baumgren, Miss Queenie Heginbotham, and Miss Nellie Smith. The first two bridesmaids were in cream frocks and the third bridesmaid wore pale blue, and their bouquets were of pink and white flowers. Mr. Douglas Powell was the best man. A reception was afterwards held at the residence of Mrs. Pettett. In the evening Mr. and Mrs. Smith entertained a largo number of guests in the Central Hall. Mr. L. Simpson was the pianist, and musical items were contributed, dancing also entertaining the guests.

An Inglewood Wedding. Tho marriage took place in Knox Cliurcli, Inglewood, of Sliss Annio Florence Marshall, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Marshall, of Ingkirood, to Mr. William James Simons, eldest son of Mr. W. C. Simons, of New Plymouth. Tlio bride, who was given away bj; her father, wore a' gown of cream silk voile, trimmed with lace and insertion, and veil with wreath of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of chrysanthemums with asparagus and maidenhair fern. The • bridesmaids were Miss Myrtlo Giddy and Miss Violet Simons, who wore dove-grey costumes and black hats with white plumes. The bridegroom's gift to tho brido was a handsome gold and greenstone, brooch and to the bridesmaids gold lace pins with circular 1 . pendants. Mr. George Simons, of Tariki, was best man, arid llr. Arthur Simons (brother -of tho bridegroom) groomsman. After the ceremony a'largo number of guests were entertained; at a reception at Willow bridge, the residence of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Simons left later by motor, en route for the South Island, where the honeymoon is to be spent. Tho bride's .travelling dress was a tailor-made costume of Scotch tweed; with black beaver hat trimmed with lancer plumes. The young couple were the recipients of many valuable and useful presents. Miss A. Parli played the organ during the ceremony, and Mr. G. H. White, of New Plymouth, played the "Wedding March."

Wedding at Pahlatua. A quiet wedding took place on. Juno 18 at the residence of Mrs. Edge, Pa'hiaihin, when Miss Emma Edge was married to Mr. Charles Boustead, of Taihape. The Eov. B. Richards, of the Methodist ChuTch, officiated. The brido, who was given away by her brother (Mr. J. Edge), woro a cream dress, trimmed with silk lace aud insertion, and veil and orange blossoms. She carrM a bouquet of whito chrysanthemums and ferns, and was attended by her sister, Miss Beitha Edge, who wore a grey dress, and also carried a bouquet of violets. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Claude Smith, of Taumarunui, The bride travelled in a navy blue cloth costume, and wore a saxo bluo hat, with plumes.

Marriage at Inglewood (Victoria). On Wednesday, June 11, the marriage took place in St. Augustine's Church, Inglewood, Victoria, of Mis 9 H. Symonds, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Symonds, Bank of Victoria, Inglewood, and Mr. W. M'Caul, of Waneanui, New Zealand. The service was choral, the bride having been a member of the choir, and the ceremony was performed by the Rev, Colin A. Grant. The bride, who was given away by hor father, woro a gown of ivory crepe de chine, the bodico having been, draped witli ninon and -silk lace, while the skirt, which was made with a squai's train, was in-let with kilted ninon. caught in with orange blossoms. Her veil was fastoned with a wreath, and she carried a shower bouquet of pale pink roses and orchids, with autumn leaves. Tiio bridesmaid, Miss Florence Symonds (cousin), wore a draped gown of shell pink crepe de chine, trimmed with guipure, and a 'black velvet hat with touches of pink.'' She carried -a bouquet of pink rosts. Mr. E. Symonds was the best man. At tho conclusion of the service the Wedding March.was.played by-Mr. Ham. Mrs. Symonds, tho mother of the bride, woro a gomi of mole eharmeuse, finished with Oriental embroideries, and enrried a bouquet of deep red carnations. The bridal party and guests wcro entertained at a wedding breakfast at the residence of the bride's'parents, and later Mr. and Mrs. M'Caul left for Melbourne, cil route for Wanganui (New Zealand), where their home is to be. The bride travelled in a navy tailored coat and skirt, black velours hat, trimmed with cerise, and black fuiu.
