SUCCESS IN LONDON. llr. Frank Poster, who hailed originally from Dunedin, and who is well known in Wellington, lias apparently been successful in London. Writing to a Wellington friend, Mr. Foster says:—"l.havo been engaged to play Hilarioii in 'Princcss Ida' at the King's Theatre. Covent Garden, on May 21, with tho Sterling MacKinlny Opera Company, and am also getting my book filled ni> with concert engagements for tho coming season. I am to sing at the Savage Club's ladies' night at tho Cecil, an honour I much appreciate. I have my contract for tho Queen's ITall concerts, and everything points to success. I have two offers to go on tour in light opera, but Sir Henry Wood advises mo to stay in London. 1 sang at a big charity concert in Queen's ITall 011 May 2, ami got (lie biggest reception of the evening —recalled three times—in fact havo not had a had reception anywhere. Mark Hambourg is in the chair at the Savage Club on Saturday, and I am helping him witli his programme. Boris Hambourg is in London, and gives a recital to-morrow (May 17)." Mr. Foster notes in his letter that Miss Ktliel Irving has revived "Lady Fredcrick" with success; that Miss Tittel I'rinio has been very in hor Nell (Iwynne play, and that Miss Ethel Warwick* lias at iength scored iu a play entitled ('.Cap and Bells,"
