ROTO ROA INMATES.
OHABGES OF INSUBORDINATION. (By Telegraph—Press AEeoaiatlon.l Auckland, June2o. - - Three inmates of Roto Boa Inebriates Home were before Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., at the Police Court again to-day, when counsel suggested that the dharges of insubordination should be held on the island, where all the witnesses were available. The magistrate refused the application, and finally the case was further adjourned', the island authorities undertaking to make more specific charges and bring witnesses from tho home. Mr. Singer maintained that tho three acoused should be deemed to be discharged according to the Act, as they had been absent from the island for more than 24 hours. Ho maintained that, they were not now inmates of the institution, and ought to go free. His Worship said that tnis was not the case, acoused having done something which made them liable to come before the magistrate, and having been brought beforo the Court, were subject to the ordinary Court procedure, ana cdiild 'bo remanded- like anyone else.
