Tho acid must bo neutralised,- and its formation prevented, and the best thing for this purpose is half a teaspoonful of bisuratea magnesia, a simple antacid, token in a littlo warm or cold water, after eating, which not only neutralises the acid, but also prevents the fermentation from which acidity is developed. Foods which, ordinarily cause greatest distress can be eaten with impunity if the meal is followed with a little bisurated magnesia, which can bo obtained of any chemist, and should always bo kept handy.
