AUSTRALIA AND CANADIAN TRADE. ty Telenranh—Prosa Association—Coorrfalil • (Rec. Juno 19, 10.15 p.m.) Sydney, June 19.The Chambers of Commorco Congress has adopted a resolution asking the Federal Government to take immediate steps to re-establish a direct steamship service between Vancouver and Australia, The mover urged the need of smch a service in order to secure the growing trade with Canada. It was a business proposition, and would soon repay itself. Mr. J. M. Paxton (ex-president of the Sydney Chamber of Commerce) said that after spending money up to the paying point on this service, Australia had quietly sat down and allowed New Zealand to develop the trade and get the benefit of Australia's expenditure. It was a gravo reflection on the Commonwealth Administration that such a thing should have been allowed. New Zealand had gone into a contract for a limited term, but the Government wag behind it, and when the time camo it was well known that it would be renewed.
