THE BUTTERFLIES.
Present indications point to tho return season of Tlio Butternies to Wellington being a very successful one. Tho company, whichl will arrive from tho south on Sunday, the boat from Lyttelton being especially delayed till after a farewell performance at Christchurch, will open, a. nine nights season in the OpGra House on Monday evening. The box plan was opened at the Dresden yesterday morning, aud it is stated there was a vcTy satisfactory demand for bookings. It is evident the memories left by the talonted performers in their efforts to please with song and music when in Wellington before are still green, and amusement-lovers will doubtless bo keen ou renewing an acquaintance so pleasantly made. During the season tho same pleasant. stage oftects of the brightly decorated butterfly stago and tasteful dresses will be observed. Tho items on the programme will all bo new to local audiences. Mr. F. W. Dennett, the solo pianist, will render several classical items, in which lie! will be assisted by a full orchestra, personally conducted 'by Mr. Jack Waller. The concerted numbers, whether in the form of musical burlesques, potted play, or extracts from the operas, will be features of each programme. Taken all round, tho programmes arranged for tho local . performances are stated to be decidedly bright and original.
