Thoy rushed into the dining-room to call Mrs. Denniston, but Olio person on the verandah, hearing footsteps insido, made off. Tho police 6ay this case was a ruse. On Tuesday afternoon a young woman in tho house of Mr. W. C. Nicholls, Mansfield Avenue, reported, that slio discovered a strange man in oue of the rooms. She rusliedl down tho stairs, and gave tho alarm, but tho man got away. Tho police disbeliovo this story.
