MASTERTON ASSOCIATION MEETING. The monthly meeting of the General Committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association was held on Saturday in the A. and P. Tooms, when there were present Messrs. H. Morrison (chairman), H. J. Dagg, J. T. Dagg, J. Strang, W. J. Welch, J. H. Perry, J. C. M'Killop, D. M'Gregor, E. G. Allen. W. Cooper, A. M'Slaster, A. J. Percy, G. H. Shaw, B. Ilayner, D. Foreman, .B. Gray, J. 11. James, J). Caselberg, A. G. Pilraer, 0. C. Cooper, G. C. Summerell, and E. Harper. / A letter from Mr. B. G. Westmoreland in reference to the prizes in the hunters' jumping competition was referred to a, sub-coinmittee. Mr. Westmoreland complained that, although his horse had been awarded second prize, he had received a cheque for the third pria& only. The secretary stated that the judges had altered their decision after their first award had bo?n given. Tho judge's card, in which tho alteration was made and initialled, was submitted to the meeting. •"*A letter of thanks was received from the secretary of the Wellington Provincial Conference of the Farmers Union, for the use of the association s room for the recent conference. Mr.- Edwin Hall, secretary pf the N.Z.A. and P. Conference, asked that remits for the forthcoming conferenco be sent forward as soon as possible. Mr. M'Gregor/ stated that Mr. Morrison and himselt had prepared three remits for the conference, and it was decided that these bo sent to the secretary. „ , r ~, . It was decided to inform Mr. Edwin Hall that the association does not consider it necessary to hold a conference to discuss the question of a union of New Zealand associations before tho biennial conference. . • . Mr. J. Strang forwarded a cheque for £25, from an anonymous friend, towards the funds of the association. It was decided (that Mr. Strang be asked to convey to the donor the appreciation of the association for his donation. ' . Tho secretary was instructed to su.pply to the Asliburton A. and P. Association ccrtain information asked for. The report of the meeting of the Ground dommittee, at which 'Mr. It. Gray presided, was read. The caretaker reported having made provision for two_ extra paddocks for holding stock. He reported having finished 250 yards of nettane in &f sheep pavilions for green reed hacks, top-dressed .the lawn with manure, and effected other improvements. Ihe Collie Club had been given the uso of tents, etc., for their recent trials, and had sent them back in a very bad state. The worst of them had been sent to the sailmaker's for Tepairs. The. report of the meeting of the lanance Committee, presided over by Mr. JJ. Caselberg, was read. The treasurer reported receipts for the month amounting to JEIBS Bs., and expenditure £m lbs. Tho debit balance at date was .£lla 9s. Accounts amounting to Jl6o 18s. lid. were recommended for payment. Che secicr tary submitted a list of outstanding receipts as compared with those at a corresponding period in 1912. This showed that the receipts outstanding at date' Mere .£2ll 9s. Gd., compared with Aom 4s. at the same dato last year.
