HARRIERS.

The Brooklyn Harriers held their usual weekly run from the Social Club-room, Courtenay Place, when some thirty members followed a paper trail laid by Captain Wilton and C. M'Vicar. The course was a good one. Starting from Oourtenay Mace, it led to Oriental Bay, up Mount Victoria,, and along the. Town. Belt over-, looking Newtown?!l'ark.i><>]j'rora\ this- point a descent was made to Lyall Bay, and thenco back to tho starting point via Evans Bay, Roseneath, and Oriental Bay, In view of the provincial cro63-country championship at Masterton neit month, a number of those who are going to represent the club in tho championship took advantage of the fine course and hadi a run through. The remainder of the somewhat eager pack was under the control of Deputy-Captain Warmington, ■ with L. Brown as pacemaker. A handicap run-in was held a quarter of a mile from home, which resulted in a very close finish, the result being: J. Salmond first, J. O'Neill second (both novices this season), with P. Oliver third. E. Shaw, who was on the earatch mark, ran well, and got into fourth place. The Wellington. Club's weekly run took placq from Lyall Bay on Saturday. In view of the approaching Palmer Cup event, the hares wore instructed to include the cup course in the trail. The "laying" was undertaken by Messrs. C. Lamberg, S. Benians, and R. Bead; Two packs were dispatched—No. lin charge of tho captain, and No. 2 in charge of the vice-captain, and tho first pack reached Miramar North before being passed by any of the second division. A handicap run-in from the city boundary to Lyall Bay tram terminus (a distance approximately of three-quarters of a mile) resulted in a win for W. Donaldson, with R. Eagle second and S. M'Dowall third l . Kerr made the pace for the l scratch men for a considerable distance, being then displaced by Donaldson and Eagle. On entering the straight E. Eagle had a slight lead on Donaldson, and these two fought out a great finish over tho last 400 yards, W. Donaldson securing the first position, by about five yards. An interesting struggle also took place between Kerr and MTJowall.
