NAVAL OIL SUPPLIES.
LONDON JOURNALS PROTEST. Rr Telczrnsh—Pross Association— Oopyriehk (Rec. Juno 13, 11 p.m.) London, June 13,. Commenting on Mr. Churchill's statement that the Government was considering tenders for naval oil from the Mexican—Eagle, and other companies, the "Daily Chroniclo" protests at the suggestion made that the Government was influenced by Lord Elibank's connection with Cowdray'a firm. "Standard Oil," says tho paper, "is American, Shell Transport is Dutch, whereas Mexican—Eagle is Britishcontrolled." Tho "Chronicle" advocates the Admiralty developing oil fields within the Empire, under its own management. It was unfortunate that tho Shell Transport Company secured a monopoly in Trinidad, but there were still uncxploited oil fields in Canada, New Zealand, and elsewhere.
