Hughes, Federal AttorneyGeneral, states that as a result of an investigation of alleged infringements of the electoral law in connection with the elections, tho Government will proceed against six newspapers and organisations in four States. In tho proceedings against newspapers and political organisations, Mr. Hughes will charge them with having misled tho electors. , RECOUNT FOR ILLAWARRA. Sydney, Juno 13. The elections aro not yet out of the wood. Mr. Fuller (Liboral) asks for a recount for Illawarra. It is officially stated that there are still three thousand votes uncounted in tho Hume election, and tho result is still, in doubt. MEETING OF CABINET. Sydney, June 13. A meeting of Cabinet discussed tho situation. At the conclusion, Mr. Fisher (Prime Minister) stated that tho meeting had done nothing. Ho added: "Why should we? There is still a large number of votes uncounted for Hume, and there is- no saying how-that may affect tlie position. Wo cannot do anything, as tho result of the election is yet unknown." Subsequently there was a meeting of tho party, which Mr. Fisher described as a pleasant little gathering to welcome new members and express icgret at the loss of old members. A "NATURALISED" MINISTER. QUESTION OF ELIGIBILITY. Melbourne, Juno 13. There has been a peculiar development with Tegard to Mr. Fielding's election to the Legislative Council. The law provides that contestants for seats on tho Council must be ten years naturalised. According to the records Mr. Fielding only obtained naturalisation in November, "1910. Thie Elections Committee is inquiring into the matter. [Mr. Fielding defeated the Hon. W. H. Edgar, Minister for Public Works, for tho Melbourne West Pronvico seat.l
