MILKING MACHINES.
| (Published by Arrangement.) Everyone connected with dairying is conversant with the phenomenal growth of the industry. Our exports of dairy produce now exceed four millions annually. This important development of a remunerative industry is in a largo measure due to increased facilities in the production of material; milking by,machinery being an important factor, having entirely overcome the labour difficulties formerly experienced. A great number of milking machines were patented, placed on the market, and tried, before a machine was mado that would milk cows successfully. It was not -until the "L.K.G." was introduced in this country by Messrs. J. B. MacEwan and Co.. Ltd., in 1902, that it was proved that the system of mechanical milking was a success. This make of machine has now been in constant use for the past eleven years, and it is claimed by the agents that it is still unequalled for securing a high average yield from the herd. This is entirely duo to the introduction of the Gillies' Air Admission Patents, which are controlled by the manufacturers of the "L.K.G." machines, and which have solved the problem of mechanical- milking, and cannot be used by any other machine. A Keleaser, with special merit, and which entirely eliminates any possibility of milk fitting into the mam vacuum pipe, con be fitted to the "L.K.G." machine to convey the milk from the cow lo the milk cans or receiver. A working outfit will be on exhibition at the Palmerston show next week, where all farmers interested will have an opportunity of making an inspection and obtaining full particulars. Tho exhibit, will be worked by an "Electra" Oil Engine, which can bo driven by either petrol or kerosene, so that clients have tho privilege of using whatever kind of fuel is preferred. The well-known standard "Baltic" Separator will also be shown in the same stand by the agents, J. B. MacEwan and' Co., Ltd., Wellington.' 4
