EPITOME OF ATTRACTIONS. The defeat of Athletic on Saturday has considerably increased the interest in the senior competition (says tho Rugby i'nion's weekly note). Athletic will bo strengthened by tho return of A. Wilson. Melrose meet St. Jame-s on No. 2 ground, and Petono play Victoria Collcgo at Petone.
UNIVERSITY TOURING TEAM. Tho following football' team has been selected to represent the New Zealand University on its tour to Sydney this vear:—Backs: Cliikls, Cuthill, Harris fOt-iso), Ryan, Faire (Victoria College), Mackay, Geddes, Darby, Wilson (Auckland). 'Forwards: I'ishor, Mawson (Otago , flilhey (A.U.C.I, Dobson (Canterbury), J'orter Canterbury). Qmlliam, l'awcett (V.C.), Nesbit (A.U.C.), C. Cartwught (C.C.), A. Itidd (0.U.). Tho team is to play two matches against Sydney Lmversitv, and one against Bitntroon Military College. This, it is stated, is probably the strongest Now Zealand University team that has loft New Zealand. Every one of the backs (except l ? airc) represented his province last year. Jhe team will leave Wellington on .Time 27.
INTER-COLLEGIATE MATCH. The annual senior and junior Rugby football matches between teams representing the- To Auto and Wangamn Colleges are to bo played at Palmerston North on Wednesday next. Tlieso matches always create a very lively interest, and invariably nroduce somo very pretty displays of the Rugby game.
