HEAVY DEFICITS THIS TEAR. Four leading missionary 6ocieties report heavy deficits this year (states tho "Daily Mail ). They arc:— London Missionary X 29.000 Church Missionary j£28,000 Wesloyan Missionary w611,000 Baptist Missionary £10,000 Thesa fifforet—with tha exception of those relmting to tho Wesleyan Missionary Society, which wero given to a representative of tho "Daily Mail" by tho secretary—aro from the "Christian World.' One of th» eecret*ri*» of tho Church Mi»sionary Socioty «id the deficiency ox £28,009 was not nearly as bad as it teemed. "Part of the dcficit is duo to a ihrinkago of lejaciei, but * large part of our income had been previously ear-marked for particular purposes. Had the whole of our income been available the total amount received would well have covered tho expenditure."
