CIVIC AFFAIRS.

The fortnightly meeting of the City Council was held last' night. There wcro present the Mayor (Mr. J. I'. Luke), Councillors, W. H..P. Barber, G. Frost, J. Godber, H. Buddie, W. J. Thompson, L. Fletcher. j It was resolved that the Onslow Borough Council be informed that tho council did not intend to take any action in tho matter of the proposed Ngaio-Wade'stown footbridge this year. In reply to a request from tho Wellington Muuicipal Officers' Association, it was decided that the council, when,considering the matter of additional accommodation in the Town Hall buildings would mako provision for a recreation and mess room ior the staff. Mutual Fife Association Society, Ltd., of scction 110, Lambton Reclamation.
