A SUCCESSFUL YEAR.
PATEA FARMERS' FREEZING CO. i The Patea Farmers' Freezing Co-opera-ftive Co. have enjoyed a wonderfully good jeeason, and there appears to bo now no (Tooni ,to doubt that the' affairs of the 'society li'iive been placcd on'a substantial itasfe. The farmers hare taken a great interest in the operations this season, with tho result that the company has already established a record far in advance of even full seasons of the past. This is easily borne out by tlift big handlings at the works, located at Patea. During: tho ' twelve- months ending October last the total stock slaughtered .was: Cattle, 1799; sheep, 15,125; calves, 63. For eight months of the current season ending Slay 31, tho total stock put through was: Cattlo, 5144; sheep, 45,100; calves, 653. The average number of stock killed per. month last year was 400 cattlo and E034 sheep, where--•us during , liist month no fewer than-1484 • liead of cattle and 1200. eheep were put through. The tido in tho affairs ;of ithis company has undoubtedly turned, ami the record season, already well established, promises to leave other years far behind.
