A HERD-TESTING ASSOCIATION. (Ry Tele&raph—Spccial Correspondent.! Bulls, .Tune 11. At an important meeting of dairy sup--pliers of tf ip Itnngitikei Dairy Company. Messrs. W. M. Singleton a;ul A. J'edcrsen, dairy experts. attended, and both gave addresses strongly in favour of casein manufacture. Shareholder?, however, decided to let matters stand in abeyance at present. Mr. Singleton addressed the supplier? on the question of herd-testing' and Jui gave some valuable information as to the beneficial renmnerat.ive results to be obtained from the system of individual testing. At the conclusion of the address, it was decided to form 1 a IferdTesting Association to commence operations in August. The suppliers have taken up the matter enthusiastically, and it is confidently anticipated that the output from the district will be iiiatenallv increased when the herds are culled and "robbers" ejected. The season .inst ended 'showed on increased yield over tne previous season by about twenty-nye per cent., tlie amount paid out for bo ttc-r-i a i by the company being over X 13.030.
