WELLINGTON PRESBYTERY.
A special meeting of tho Wellington Presbytery was held yesterday afternoon, to confer With Dr. Kirk, of Canton. The Presbytery mot again in the evening, the J?ov. A. C. W. Staudago piesiding. Reports wero received from tho homo mission stations, at Upper Hutt, Rona Bay,'Wadestown, Island Bay, Seatoun, and Miramar. Remits on home missionary courses of study and beneficiary funds wero referred to special committees. Arrangements have been mado for a collection being taken up in the churches on behalf of orphanage work. Tho Rev. Randerson, of Levin, was appointed moderator for tho next six months.^ An address was delivered by Dr. Kirk, afc tho conclusion of which tho Rev. J. M'Caw moved, and tho Rev. R. Inglis seconded, the following motion, which was carried"Tho Presbytery having met Dr. .Tolin Kirk in conference about tho proposals of tlio Canton Mission Council, resolves to ass ministers, office-bearers, nnd congregations, to do their utmost to raiso a fair proportion of tho increased expenditure."
