JOHNSONVILLE TOWN BOARD.

A meeting of the Jolinsonville Town Board was held last evening. Present: Commissioners Moore (chairman), Jerusalem, Lawrence, Thompson, Angell, Parker, and May.

Owing to the large amount of outstanding sanitary rotes, the clerk wa3 instructed to issue summonses for all unpaid accounts without further notice. The board's solicitor wrote stating that lio had issued the necessary' notices to fence the boundaries of tho Johnsonville water catchment area.

The District Health Officer reported unfavourably upon the salcyards of Messrs. Abraham and Williams, .the yards being unpaved, and practically no attempt being mado to drain them. In his opinion the yards were much too large for tlie rerinircmonts of the district, and tlio owners should be required by the board to abate any nuisance and give effect to the following:—(1) Tho floors of all nens to lie properly graded, concreted, channeled, and drained. (2) The cattlo not to be kept in the saleyards longer than absolutely necessary for the sal© purposes, nnd not 'to be allowed access to any r-or-tion which lias not l>een paved as alwe stated. (3) High-pressure water to bfclaid on to properly constructed drinking troughs. Tho board decided to forward a copy of tho report, to the owners, asking them to comply therewith. It, was decided to donate ,£lO 10s. to (ho .Tolmwmville Town Board on condition that two members of tho board bo appointed co-trustees. Several refusals to pay sanitary rates being reported to the board, the clerk was instructed to point out that (lie board have 110 power to remit, pnnitary or any oilier special rates, whether tlm dwellings are occupied or not. Th" clerk was also instructed to prosecute oil owners of vnregistered <logs found in tlie district without further notieo.
