SIR WALTER BUCHANAN.
SPEECH AT VANCOUVER, By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. June 11, 1.20 a.m.) Vancouver, June 10. Sir Walter Buchanan, speaking at a banquet given in honour of the new steamers Niagara and Empress of Russia, said that the occasion marked the development of a great Pacific trade. All parts of the Empire must shnro in protecting tho Empire's trade, and he felt sure that Canada's heart was as true to th? Empire as was New Zealand's. When tho opportunity came Canada would not bo found wanting, but would stand for the integrity of the Empire, as in the Doer War.
