COMPULSORY UNIONISM. its Tele*rsph-Fro«0 Association—CoDyrlehl London, June 9. Railway men at Burlon-on-Trent passed a resolution in favour of an eight-hour day and a minimum wago. Mr.' Bellamy, president, declared that tho National Union programme would stipulate for a general strike, in order to compel non-unionists to join the union. CONTRACT SYSTEM. Brisbane, June 10. ' The Cloncurry gold mines' smelters are idle owing to the refusal of the union to allow the miners to contract. SHIPYARD WOKKERS. (Rec. June 10, 11.15 p.m.) London, Juno 10. The Amalgamated Unions of Labour have applied to the Shipbuilding Employers' Federation for an increase of two shillings weekly, or ten per centum at piece rates.
