SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications are for cold and damp weather generally; heavy showers probable over tlio North. Island and East Coast districts, with snow on, higher levels, south to south-easterly winds, strong to gale, and the barometer unsteady in the north for a short time, but rising everywhere to-morrow. The winds have been variable, _ but increasing southcrlles have ruled, with heavy gales on the East Coast of the South Island. Tho weather has been stormy in. the south and cold and changeable generally. Rain has fallen in many parts, especially in the northern .and southernmost districts, Hail squalls have been frequent in the south. , D. C. BATES. Meteorological Office, Wellington, June 10, 1913. Wangamii, June 10-lileak, raw day; heavy rain in evening. Shannon, June 10—Heavy rain on Monday evening; frost early on Tuesday morning; day dull and threatening. Otaki, Juno 10.—Pine. Featherston, Jnno 10.—Westerly breeze; weather cold; clouds gathering in tho south. . ~ . . Greytovm, June 10.—Tho weather is fine, but cold, with a clear sky. Masterton,, Juno 10.—A bright, fine day, following a frost. ANSWER TO CORRESPONDENT. "Doone."— Allen Doone has plnretl through New Zealand before the present tour. His previous season in Wellington was in February, 1912.
