MUSICAL COMPETITIONS.
The third annual musical and elocutionary competitions will be held in Masterton' on July 21 next, and following days. A comprehensive syllabus lias been prepared and extensively circulated m most of the towns of the Xorth Island, and the committee of management anticipate a record number of entries for the various events. The church choir competition is e.ypec.leil to attract many e»t>'ies the prize money being .£lo—whilst in the other sections handsome amounts are offered as first and second prizes.
