Over threo million of the women of India have subscribed to an illuminated address to Lady Hardinge, congratulating her on the escape of 'her husband, the Viceroy, from death at the hands of un assassin in December. Tho casket in which the address was enclosed was made from an elephant's tusk measuring 36infj and weighing 221b.
