(By Ttlcjrrash.—Pr«s Anoclatlog.) Dannevirke, Juno C. At tho annual meeting of the Waipawa, Licensing Committee tlio chairman, Mr. S. E. M'Cartliy, S.M., referring to a recent prosecution for supplying a Maori woman with liquor, issued a warning regarding tho serious consequences following detection. Inspector O'Donovan pointed out that publicans were placed in. an unenviable position in .tlio matter. Whilo they had power to prevent prohibited persons entering licensed premiscß, publicans had no authority to act in a similar manner as regards Maori women.
