FALL FROM A TRAMCAU. A wharf labourer named I. jStimson jumped off a tramear while it was proceeding down Lambton Quay at a fast rate yesterday afternoon. fell heavily, and was rendered unconscious. l)r. Henry was'called to attend the man. and ordered his removal to the Hospibil. Stimson was there found to bo suffering from ooncussion of the brain. He is a. single man, residing at 77 Taranaki Street. On inquiry at tho Hospital last night it was ascertained that the man's condition was not serious. A GUMDIGGER DROWNED. (By Telacrapb.—Pres* *Mooiniion.l Auckland, June 3. : A man named Lur Rintaelure, n German gumcligger, who came down from the north on May 17 last to bank his savings on seven months' work, viw found drowned in tho harbour on Wednesday. The savings bank book showed that deceased had saved over JCGOO. He has no relations in New Zealand, but, it. is believed that ho has a daughter in .Bremen, Germany. While in Auckland on periodical trip's, deceased stayed at a boardinghouse m Wellesley Street, but on May 24 ho paid what wa9 due ana left. The body had apparently been in the water for some considerable time. FALL OFF A WAGON. Hamilton, Juno 5. A Native named Jacob fell off a wagon At Karnmu to-day, his head being crushed by the wheels. ( SHORE AID CALLED FOR; Tlmaru, Juno 5. Prolonged whistling by tho Wanaka after she loft port to-night, and the uso of SfoTse lanterns, caused the Harbour Board's launch to bo sent out with a. doctor. It brought back a seaman named Steward, who had been injured by a fall. Ho was taken to the hospital. FOOTBALLER INJURED. • Wanganui, June 5.
