FAMOUS BOATHOUSE BUItNT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Oopyriett London, June 3. Suffragettes burnt Fred. Rough's famous Oxford boathouse. Many valuable boats were destroyed. Threo women were seen hurriedly leaving before the outbreak, and afterwards Suffragetto literature was found in the building. (R-cc. June d, 10.20 p.m.) London, June 1. Hundreds of boats were destroyed at Fred Rough's boatshed, the value being placed at ,£3OOO. A MAGISTRATE'S EXPERIENCE. ATTEMPT TO THROW HIM OVER A CLIFF. London, June 3. The late Sir Curtis Bennett, the Metropolitan Police Magistrate at Bow Street, whose sudden death was announced yesterday, dreaded the Suffragettes. 110 told his solicitor that ivhile ho was walking at the seaside last week one of two women seized him and endeavoured to throw him over the cliffs. Both then fled.
